Blogoversary giveaway 1

Autumn Bouquet

Well it has been three years since I started blogging... And honestly, it has been a very bumpy ride! Not knowing what to post, having too many thoughts in my head, being bummed because yet again I lost another follower. But amazingly enough, I kept at it. Or tried to at least. ;) Through all of the blogging breaks, and vacations ... You guys and gals have kept me going. Encouraging me, sending me thoughtful emails saying you missed my posts, those wonderful comments, all the likes. I could go on and on. But you faithful followers and readers all know what I'm talking about. :)

This post is to personally thank you wonderful people who kept me going... It's all because of you (and the Heavenly Father, of course) that I am still here. So, I figured... Why not give something to a few of those special people? I'm sure you know what that means, right?
To celebrate this three year milestone, I thought it would only be appropriate to host a giveaway. Now this is no ordinary giveaway!

So, what are we waiting for?
But hang on! Before the fun begins, I must thank my awesome sponsors!! They were all so helpful during the planning process... :) So why don't we all give them a round of applause?

Alrighty, now let me introduce you to the first prize (there are more to come!)...

Getting crafty

Lately I've been experimenting with different homemade lip balm recipes... And I have found one that I love! It is so easy... And really worth it when you think about all the nasties they put in regular lip balms. So pucker up, here's the recipe!

You'll need...

2 Tablespoons Beeswax (grated)
2 Tablespoons Coconut oil
2 teaspoons Sweet Almond oil
chunk of your favorite lipstick color (optional)
About 10 drops of essential oil (I used grapefruit, but you can use any kind)
Clean containers of some kind (I bought your typical lip balm containers at our health food store here in town)

Now...

To melt it all together grab a wide mouthed mason jar, and place it into a small pot half full of water. Start to heat the water over your stove. Grate your beeswax, measure out the oils, and take the chunk of lipstick, and put it all into the wide mouthed mason jar. (don't add the essential oil yet.) Stir it up with a metal spoon.
Once your mixture is melted well, take the jar out of the pot and add the essential oil of our choice. The more you add, the more potent your lip balm will be. :)
Carefully pour the hot liquid into the containers, don't put them into the fridge to cool, or they will develop holes in the center. Just let them hang out at room temperature until they harden. Now you're ready to hand these out to your family and friends, sell them, or just pamper yourself... :)

PS. May is coming up, and with it is a surprise! Stay tuned!

Oh, so good

Yesterday, my friend Lyssa and I made the best matzo dessert ever. I am so not kidding when I say this! :)

Chocolate Toffee Matzo

Ingredients
1 stick of butter
1 cup of brown sugar
chocolate chips
a few sheets of matzo
chopped up nuts of your choice (we used pecans)

Method
Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Place the butter and brown sugar in a saucepan, bring to a slow boil, stirring constantly. Let boil for about one minute. Spread a couple of sheets of matzo onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Remove toffee from heat, and spread evenly over the matzo. Place into the preheated oven, and bake for about 7 to 10 minutes. Take out of the oven, and sprinkle chocolate chips (as many or as little as you like) over the hot toffee. Wait about a minute for the chocolate to melt, then spread it evenly over the toffee. Chop up your favorite type of nuts, and sprinkle over the top. Let cool for about 10 minutes. Then dig in!

Spring has Come

Every year this season comes. In my opinion, it's the most beautiful. Isn't it amazing what Yahweh has created? What is your favorite thing about spring?
